Strategic Management Essay Having read a case study about the Apple computer company, I as the senior manager of my company have decided to perform a SWOT analysis about the company.à This is in a close attempt of developing various strategies to improve my company whose turn over seems to be falling of recently.à à The Apple company is doing well with relatively a high increasing annual profit and indeed high rate of expansion where it has even opened other distributory branches all over the country. à à à à à à à à à à à The company has a highly intensified marketing and advertisement probe.à In the recent past, it has held a diversified advertisement campaign through the media, Internet, newspapers, and even sales promotions.à Due to this marketing campaign, people have been able to have awareness about the product of the company.à Perhaps, this is what causes the company sales to be growing in such a high manner. à à à à à à à à à à à It has a good cooperate governance in its administration structure, where the responsibilities of each party are well defined.à All the members in this administration works in conjunction with one another and the offices of different administrators are allocated with different responsibilities.à For example, there is the office of the human resource manager, financial manager, marketing, logistics and project manager.à The company decisions are determined by a Board of directors. (Drejer, 2002, p. 81) à à à à à à à à à à à The company depicts a good costing system, where optimatility in resource allocation is fostered in marketing, logistics, company administrative performance and other related costing areas.à It has exercised an optimal allocation of its resources which includes, service rendering, product, administrative and human resource capital. (Warner, 2001, p.56) à à à à à à à à à à à Technology is highly developed in the company, where most of the tasks and responsibilities are performed with high technical methods. The company has been perceived to use high computerized network in its administration. à Either, it has employed developed and advanced technical methods, where financial, human resource, sells and distribution and logistics databases are said to be highly pronounced.à Such technological development is said have improved efficiency above quality and optimality in resource allocations. (Roney, 2004, p.48) à à à à à à à à à à à The company has maintained a good financial management system where the financial data analysis has been done by advanced computerized accounting system.à The management and human resource capital in the financial department comprises of highly academically qualified personnelââ¬â¢s.à Over the years, the company audited results have been voted as good results.à à The finance department is also manned by high regulations that entail only performance by its workers under strict regulations. (Roney, 2004, p. 51) à à à à à à à à à à à It is depicted to have a good human resource capital, where high qualified professionals have been employed to man different offices and departments. à à à à à à à à à à à Either, the company is depicted to have a strategy in its operations; its operations consist of many branches, agents and brokers all over the country.à It has also engaged in other methods of sales where it is having deliveries of good and services to the customer. à à à à à à à à à à à However the same company is affected by some weakness.à Firstly, it is having a too authoritative and self-decision making top management.à Rather than initiating the voice of the shareholder and other third parties to be business, the top management has been the sole decision maker in the company.à This constitutes too excessive powers of the directors and top branch managers. à à à à à à à à à à à Either the company has seemed to make different diversified allocations on financial expenditure in marketing and forming further expansion.à This is a weakness as it may ruin excessive expenditure by the company. à à à à à à à à à à à Due to its current good performing nature, the company is able to perform and expand more.à In respect to its strategies, it is able to compete well in the highly competitive market.à Perhaps the current expansion and development in the company can be attributed to its mode of strategies in management.à If the company continues to use such strategies, it will be able to compete more with its competitors and even have a expansion and related profit turnovers. à à à à à à Despite the good performance of the Apple Company, its authoritative top administration is a big threat to its expansion.à This brings the problem of managerialism, whereby the activities of a company are totally determined by the management.à This is a threat in its financial system in which the top management may squander/misuse the companyââ¬â¢s finances.à Such an authoritative administration is a threat to the companyââ¬â¢s expansion. à à à à à à à à à à à Because my company depicts to have strategic weakness in its management the solution to this would be to compliment with development in management strategies. à à à à à à à à à à à Firstly, my company lacks good corporate governance which has lead to conflicts in its management.à à There are no clear regulations as to the roles of different parties in its administration.à Therefore it would be important to ensure such good governance and more so, delicate duties adequately to all its offices. à à à à à à à à à à à My company has performed poor in its market campaign in product awareness to our customers.à This is an important area if our company is to improve. à à à à à à à à à à à Elsewhere, my company has been using low level of technological orientation, where most of the duties have been performed manually and inconsistency in data and information availability.à If the company is to improve therefore, it has to improve its information technology for more databases for easy availability of information. à à à à à à à à à à à Since we have had poor costing system, improving on such would ultimately mean lower cost and hence higher profit. à à à à à à à à à à à My company has also had weaknesses in allocating its resources.à Our resource allocation has not been to a full and optimal scale.à à Some resources have been under utilized and misallocated.à However, expansion of our company ultimately calls for improvement in allocation of its resources. Use of Character Flaws and Literary Devices to Teach Morals in Oedipus Rex à à à à The Greek tragedy Oedipus Rex is an excellent example of how an author can use literary techniques and personality traits to teach a certain moral or theme.à In Oedipus Rex, Sophocles communicates his themes and morals to the reader through the character flaws of Oedipus, a tragic hero.à The most prominent character flaw that Oedipus possesses is his excessive arrogance. One way this flaw is displayed is Oedipus' repeated use of the pronoun "I". In lines sixty seven through eighty alone, Oedipus uses the word "I" eight times, projecting his haughty personality. "I have found one helpful course, and that I have taken: I have sent Creonâ⬠¦to Delphiâ⬠¦" states Oedipus as he describes what action he has taken to help the people of Thebes recover from there ill state (70-73). This quote is just one of the many that exhibit Oedipus' pride through the over use of the pro-noun "I". à à à à à à à à à à à Another example of Oedipus' hubris is the way he speaks in a condescending tone to who ever he may be speaking to. "I have sent Creonâ⬠¦to Delphi, Apollo's place of revelation to learn there, if he can, what act or pledge of mine may save the city" (74-77). In these lines Oedipus suggest that Creon is inferior to him by stating, "if he can"(77). Oedipus often indicates, as he does here, that people other than himself are insolent and incapable of completing tasks correctly. He also indicates in the above quote that he, the all mighty Oedipus, is the only person who could possible save the city of Thebes by saying, "what act or pledge of mine may save the city" (75). Ethical decisions and informed consent Essay
In all counseling programs meant for children and adolescents, it is very important that the parents be involved. The parents would require knowing the results of the psychological analysis, most probably in concern for the well being of their wards. However, in certain cases, the children or the adolescents might not intent the parents to know the details of their case. Like an adult patient, the child patient would want to ensure confidentiality of their case. However, it is also important to know that the child would not be in a position to make a proper decision regarding their treatment. Hence, it is very important to ensure that confidentiality exists to a limited extent in such cases. The counselors would have to protect the adolescent and the teenager regarding the individual case. They have to maintain strict confidentiality and should not inform anybody about the details of their case. However, the counselor would also have to inform the parent, as the parents are in the best position in making a valuable decision about their wards. The child or adolescent may be acting out of immaturity in these cases. It is also important to keep in mind that issues regarding the sexual activity of the child and the interventions required for the treatment of a sexually transmitted disease differs from one state to another. Certain issues such as abuse, neglect, presence of any risk or danger to others, etc, have to be reported to the parents. The counselor should be aware that the parents have rights of the children. Only the relevant information has to be disclosed to the parents so that they can make an informed decision for the welfare of their wards. The information presented should be accurate and comprehensive. In this case the parents would have to be informed if any case of neglect, abuse, harm to the child, etc is present. Treatment of a sexually transmitted disease may have to be reported in case the child may cause the risk of transmitting it to other people. The counselor should also try to determine if any danger is present for the 15-year-old client from any other party. If any such danger were present, the counselor would have to ensure that the child is adequately protected by informing the parents. In all cases, the counselor, to determine the need for informing the parents, should conduct a thorough assessment of the situation.

My Personality Traits Perseverance And Time Management
Summary I wanted to look at two traits ââ¬â Perseverance and Time Management. I collected data from two sources. 1. Self-reported data on time spent and perceived quality for identified recruitment activities 2. Feedback from two individuals who worked closely during the process The self-reported data pointed to the fact that reporting and tracking the data in itself caused a rise in quality of my recruitment activities. The feedback pointed to the fact I was perceived to be above average for both the traits. I realize that intervention effects are strong enough to change behaviors. On a professional and personal front, this presents me an tool to operate in the future. From an organizationââ¬â¢s point of view, data collection on its employees is a time consuming and expensive process. But if it can track the right metric using the right methods, both the organization and employees can benefit from people analytics. What did I want to measure? This self-assessment assignment presented me with a unique opportunity to quantify two of my personality traits to which I attributed a big chunk of my personal successes.
